Understanding the concept of freedom

Posted by Carlos

As a christians, we hear all the time about how Jesus set us free from the sin, how He is our saviour and now we can live free within Him and His Holy word…

However….

I dont know about you, but every time that I see a hot chick I ask my self: “am I really free?”, how can I be free if I cant sleep with each woman that I can?, what’s wrong with that?, ohh right is the sin of Lust!! right!! …but but it is just meaningless-protected-with-a-condon-sex that’s all!!, nothing more, nothing less… I’m not hurting anybody, and certainly I’m not feeling pain doing it!

But here is the thing, I realize that the sin is a trap, and everytime that you fall into the temptation, the sin is taking control of you, yes!, it is!. So without even notice, you are falling in small little temptations and next thing you know is that your life is spining around that sin, and you start making wrong decisions and your life ultimate goes to a living hell! (metaphorically AND literally speaking!!)

So I have 3 examples of how sin takes control of your life and makes you his little bitch toy, but I’m going to write that in another occasion!

So the concept of freedom is that when the God’s word says not to do something, is because that “something” may take control of your live, making you a slave!.

Now, everything that I see a hot chick… -well I still have that freaking temptation-  but I know that I cant fall into that, because I dont want that my life spin around just sex nor any other stupid temptation, Nop!,  I want that my life spin around Jesus, which means to have a life full of joy, passion, a life complete in all the levels of our live (finantial, personal, sexual, academical, business, etc)

…and I conclude with the related versicle

16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:16-17
